The most important development to come out of 2012 was the fact that, in order to keep up with demand and evolve as a company, Spectrum Games went from being a one-woman operation to being a company of four. Bringing Norbert Franz, Barak Blackburn and Stephen Shepherd on board has truly benefited the company in every way, as they are all hard-working, dedicated and talented individuals who work very efficiently together.
Also, we released a brand new game in August, with Capes, Cowls and Villains Foul. CC&VF has gone on to become our most popular game and has garnered wonderful reviews as well. Its popularity has prompted us to release several free mini-supplements for it and launch what would become a successful Kickstarter campaign for the first full-blown supplement for it: Gallery of Evil (which will be released in February).
Macabre Tales has seen a free PDF and three high-quality, universally-acclaimed adventures ("The Secret of the Dead Man's Satchel", "A Translation of Evil" and "The Other Side of the Mirror"), all of which have been wildly successful. The line continues to do well.
On the Slasher Flick side of things, we have released an adventure ("SS Demeter") and one supplement ("Night Shift"). Both products have sold briskly. The Slasher Flick line will be given a huge shot in the arm in 2013, though, so keep an eye out for the big announcement!
Cartoon Action Hour had no supplements released for it in 2012, but that's simply because we've been hard at work developing a brand new edition, which will be released in the summer of 2013! Trust me -- next year will be anything but slow for our venerable flagship game!
We have also announced the upcoming release of a small RPG called The Mooglies, which is designed for a younger audience with the idea that parents can run it for their children. Most of the profit will go to the families of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting victims. In fact, I should be solidifying the deal with a charitable organization today or on Jan. 2nd.
So, as you can see, it's been a whirlwind of a year for us, which is always a good thing! This has, by far, been Spectrum's most profitable year, a trend we are certain will continue next year. We have some really exciting things planned for 2013, including a brand new game that will tackle a genre that really hasn't been tackled in RPG form before. While we're dropping a few hints, we're keeping the game under wraps for the time being.
Before I stop yammering, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our fans for making 2012 an amazing year for us by purchasing our products, spreading the word and playing our games. You are appreciated by all of us.
Here's to an exciting new year!
